Before and after Booking

By finalising a booking through our website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to our terms and conditions.

Wake Up Reykjavík, is a local company based in the heart of Reykjavík, Iceland. Our mission is to be your gateway to a range of authentic Icelandic experiences. While we are proud to directly manage and host several of our signature tours, we also collaborate with a select network of local tour operators for some of our experiences to be able to offer a more diverse tour selection. These partnerships are forged with the finest specialists in each respective field, ensuring that every aspect of your adventure meets our high standards and provides an exceptional experience!

It is crucial that you provide all the necessary details accurately during the booking process. Upon the completion of your booking, you will receive a confirmation email containing your booking number and the voucher(s) for the service(s) you have reserved. This voucher acts as your proof of payment; therefore, you must always be able to provide a physical copy or an electric version on your mobile device to show on the day of your tour.

You bear the responsibility to review all details in your booking confirmation and related documents to verify their accuracy. In the event of a discrepancy, such as incorrect dates or an erroneous number of participants, please contact Wake Up Reykjavík immediately. Timely notification is essential, as it may become increasingly challenging to alter your reservation as the tour departure date approaches. Wake Up Reykjavík will not assume responsibility for errors made during the booking process that are not promptly reported.

So please, take the time to go over all the relevant information you put in during the booking process and any information we give out on your vouchers as soon as you receive them to be sure everything is in order.

Cancellation and Refund policy

All cancellations must be sent in writing to our email address at [email protected]. If it is not possible for you to send us your cancellation via email, you can call our office. Our phone line is open during our office hours on weekdays from 9:00 - 17:00 pm GMT or on weekends from 10:00 am - 17:00 pm GMT our number is +354 454 0222.

Our following cancellation policy for scheduled tours applies:

More than a 24-Hour Notice: If you cancel any scheduled tour with Wake Up Reykjavík (via phone or email) with more than 24 hours notice from tour start time, we'll happily refund you in full, no questions asked!

Within 24-Hour Notice: Should you need to cancel within 24 hours of the scheduled booking, you do not fit the requirements for a refund and we will have to charge you for the tour.

Flight Delays or Cancellations: We understand the unpredictability of travel. If you miss your tour due to flight-related issues and do not inform us before the tour, we recommend reaching out to your travel insurance for reimbursement. Many of our guests have done so and gotten their money back successfully.

Tour unexpectedly has to be Cancelled: If we have to cancel your tour unexpectedly or with a short notice for any reason (e.g., a weather storm, a tour guide suddenly becomes ill, the tour does not reach the minimum numbers required) we, first off, are extremely sorry about that and will do what we can to rebook you so you don’t miss out on a fantastic experience. Should a rescheduling not be possible or you just want to cancel we will of course issue out a full refund.

Our following cancellation policy for private tours applies:

Should you book a private tour with Wake Up Reykjavík we require a cancellation notice made with a minimum of 7 days prior to the tour departure.

More than a 7-Day Notice: If you cancel any private tour with Wake Up Reykajvík (via phone or email) with more than a 7 day notice from tour start time, we'll happily refund you in full, no questions asked!

Within the 7-Day Notice:: Should you need to cancel within 7 days of the private booking, you do not fit the requirements for a refund and we will have to charge you for the tour. Please contact us immediately and we will do our best to try and accommodate your request but this might result in us having to charge the tour in full.

Tour unexpectedly has to be Cancelled: If we have to cancel your tour unexpectedly or with a short notice for any reason (e.g., a weather storm, a tour guide suddenly becomes ill, the tour does not reach the minimum numbers required) we, first off, are extremely sorry about that and will do what we can to rebook you so you don’t miss out on a fantastic experience. Modifications and changes.

Wake Up Reykjavík prides itself on delivering high-quality tour experiences as advertised. However, we reserve the right to make alterations to the tour itineraries, schedules, or transportation if deemed necessary due to circumstances beyond our control (e,g., to change any tour route to avoid sudden hazardous weather conditions).

We are committed to ensuring that any changes made will be minor in nature and will not detract from the overall tour experience. In the event of a modification, we will make every reasonable effort to inform our customers as soon as possible.

When you book with Wake Up Reykjavík, you acknowledge and agree to the possibility of such modifications and trust that we will only make changes with your best interest and safety in mind.

Disclaimer

All tours and activities offered by Wake Up Reykjavík are undertaken at the participants' own risk. Wake Up Reykjavík does not assume any responsibility for accidents that are caused by our customers or can be traced back to their actions.

Participants are responsible for ensuring that they are medically and physically able to partake in our tours. Wake Up Reykjavík is not liable for any incidents related to chronic diseases, medical conditions, or allergies of participants.

Wake Up Reykjavík will not be held responsible for any accidents or injuries that occur outside of our provided transportation. It is the responsibility of each customer to adhere to safety guidelines and instructions at all times during the tour.

Wake Up Reykjavík promotes an environment of respect and safety. We do not tolerate any form of violence, racism, or harassment towards our staff or fellow tour participants. We reserve the right to terminate a tour without refund and take legal action if necessary against anyone exhibiting such behaviours.

During tours, our guides and staff may take photographs or videos that could be used for marketing purposes, including publication on social media platforms. If you do not wish to be photographed or have your image used in this way, please inform our staff at the start of the tour.

By booking a tour with Wake Up Reykjavík, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
